This Brigade was formed as a new unit under the Territorial Army Scheme and comprised the 10th (Otley) and 11th (Ilkley) Batteries, the Burley Ammunition Column and No 4 Section of the Divisional Ammunition Column.   Nearly all the men were recruited from Otley and District.   They knew each other through work and leisure, training together regularly at weekends and at their annual training camp.

In April 1915 the Brigade sailed for France and the Front Line to take part in many of the major engagements throughout the war.
