Removal FAQ

Q: Do you dismantle and re-assemble my bed, wardrobe etc.?


A: Yes this is not a problem, Our staff will carry out dismantling and re-assembling to the best of their ability. It is essential that we know what is required at the quotation stage to allow for the necessary resources and equipment to be provided


Q: What should I do with my gas cylinders, flammable liquids & Paint?


A: Gas cylinders cannot be transported on our vehicles. Flammable liquids, however contained, must not be submitted for removal either. These items are not covered under our insurance, other arrangements must be made. Equipment such as garden mowers and chainsaws should be drained of all liquids beforehand. It is imperative that paint is not submitted into the vehicles for removal as any spillages of this sort are again not covered by our insurance. Please ask your removal surveyor to advise you of any other goods that you are not sure of.


Q: Does my furniture and boxes get placed to my requirements?


A: It is always best if you have a clear idea of where you want your furniture to be placed. Our staff will endeavour to arrange the rooms to your liking but will not have the time to continually rearrange your room. We would recommend that you mark clearly on boxes which room, and where possible stickers on items of furntiure where the surface permits.


Q: How big or Full should I pack my boxes?


A: Boxes should be of decent size and quality, we recommended 18"x18"x20" or 18"x13"x13" and always full and level with the tops being closed flat, as half full boxes can collapse and cause damage. We always say if you can't lift the box safely then please consider us before taping it!


Q: Do I need to unpack my chest of drawers?


A: Providing the unit is sturdy enough then light items such as clothing, bedding etc. can be left in. Please remove any books, magazines, breakable items etc. Self-assembly furniture does not respond well to moving so this type of furniture must only be moved while completely empty.


Q: Will my move be insured?


A: Yes. We have a 5 Star Furniture ‘Goods In Transit’ Insurance of up to £30,000 per load, which is included at no extra cost.


Q: Are my goods blanket wrapped to avoid damage?


A: Yes. All our vehicles carry furniture removal blankets and quilted sofa covers etc onboard.


Q: How do we pay?


A: We accept cash or Bank Transfer. We do require a small deposit at the booking stage to reserve and allocate staff and vehicles for your removal.


Due to previous experience with some of our clients we are unable to accept cheque’s on the day of the move. If you wish to pay by cheque this must be posted to our office at least 7 days prior to your removal.


Please ensure that at least 95% of your goods have been packed ready for our removal crews on your moving day, We do understand that you need a minimal amount of items to still function before the day. Especially the all-important kettle and coffee making facilities.
