“Meet Tooti and Fruity – a ‘pear’ of fruit obsessed, eccentric players! After spending at least 40 years working in a fruit packing factory together they have embarked upon an adventure to bring toots and fruits to the masses!
Having been the supervisor of fruit squeezing at the factory, Tooti now utilises her skills in generating a fruit chorus, whilst Fruity – taste tester extraordinaire – entices the hoards to taste the goodness of her fruit platter.
Are you ready to cut the cheese with these berserk banana battling beauties?”

Tooti Fruity is the creation of Kerfuffle Street Theatre – a collaboration between Natalie Speake and Gil Burns, two West Yorkshire based professional performance artists who work together to produce playful, interactive works. "Tooti Fruity" is a flamboyant, all singing, all dancing street theatre extravaganza.
The piece works as a 30-40 min strolling act that engages the public using song, dance and audience participation. Tooti and Fruity guide the viewers on a fun and insightful investigation into the majesty and mystery of fruit.
A tantalising taste of Tooti Fruity may well include:
-
A new take on Little Richard’s "Tutti Frutti"
-
The original Berry Song
-
An insightful quiz – is it t’ berry or not t’ berry?
-
The Maraca Caraca
-
The Banana Bonanza
Tooti Fruity would be at home at any outdoor event - a food festival or farmer’s market, music or arts festival, family fun day or even a school fete!

Gil (of Kerfuffle Street Theatre!) is currently beavering away on a collaboration between herself and Beka Haigh of Frolicked Outdoor Theatre. We can't tell you much yet, but it will involve Gregorian chants and illuminated lettering. Maybe the odd puppet here and there. Oh and robes. Very thick hot robes...
