Credentials...

Wendy Slade studied at De Montfort University, Lincoln for a BA(Hons) in Conservation/Restoration and graduated in 1998.  This degree course encompassed the disciplines of furniture, ceramics, ethnography and gilding,  with the latter being Wendy's chosen specialism.

Further experience was gained at a gilding studio in Paris, working on traditional French gilded chairs and settees.  Returning to her home city of Norwich, Wendy has worked as a gilding conservator for the last 20 years with a client base made up of local museums, private collectors and antique dealers.

Testimonials...

" Wendy Slade is worthy of both note and praise .  Twice she has come to my rescue and restored perfectly a couple of damaged gilt frames and an oil painting which broke free from its chain and crashed head first into a glass-topped coffee table. No one would ever know!  Wendy excels at what she does; her work is sheer professionalism and she's a delightful lady.  A rare gem indeed."                                                                   J. "My pictures are now back on the wall and I wanted to thank you so much for doing such a lovely job on them. You are a perfectionist and a true artist and crafts woman, no wonder your work is in such high demand. I shall keep your hand-written 'work plan' in an appropriate place so that it forms part of the history of both pictures. Many thanks again for all your detailed and fine work."                                                                      Martin, Suffolk 28.11.2020
