There are some very nice places to eat nearby. The Châtellenie restaurant, just a few doors up the street, offers a high quality, varied and interesting menu, stylish decor and a friendly atmosphere. Look for the fabulous market menus starting from €23 for 3 courses on weekdays, lunchtimes and evenings, and starting from the €35 menu at weekends.

Enjoy the weekly market of Availles-Limouzine, every Thursday morning in the central square.

CONFOLENS MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Confolens Music Festival is a week-long ever-popular celebration of world music, with performers visiting from all corners of the globe, taking place every August. La Source bed & breakfast is 13km (13 minutes) from the centre of Confolens.
FUTUROSCOPE
This is a major technology-based theme park (1.8 million visitors a year), including 3D (and 4D) cinemas, rides, and a fairytale evening show. It aims to please the kids and the adults too: 1 hour from the house.
CIRCUIT VAL DE VIENNE
The Val de Vienne circuit for motorracing is only 10km (10 minutes) from the house, with regular car and bike events: www.circuitvaldevienne.com
In particular look for the Ferrari weekend at the beginning of June each year, attended by over 500 Ferraris and many other supercars and classic cars.

MONTMORILLON FEST'HIVER
A great show that trails around the town. Fire, song and dance, flamenco, music, acrobats, jugglers, crafts (ironwork, pottery, stained glass), a sculptor, and a light projection show. It's growing every year.
