Front crawl swim development for beginners and experienced swimmers
Beautiful swim coaching came about as a collaboration between John and his colleague Paul ( an experienced adult swimming teacher and triathlon coach) to help breast stroke swimmers transition to front crawl. Later this expanded to helping experienced swimmers resolve some of their stroke inefficiencies. During 2022 we assisted 160 swimmers in their swim development. Using 2 school swimming pools in Huddersfield, and restricting numbers to 12 swimmers per coach on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening, we have received wonderful feedback from those taking part. If you would like further information about developments in 2023, please contact me.

1-2-1 Triathlon coaching
Triathlon training is a simple matter of combining swimming, cycling and running into your busy week alongside work and family commitments. But, you don't want to forget transition practice, strength and conditioning, nutrition and all that equipment.
So, read a book, watch some videos, find a training plan and then see a post on social media about the latest great ideas which contradicts the book, and soon 'simple' no longer applies.
A coach provides more than a structured training plan, but adapts that plan to your personal circumstances and supports you through the highs and lows of training.
So why me?
I have competed at triathlons since
1998, with an emphasis on Ironman
racing. By 2010 I started to believe I
had the potential to qualify for the
Ironman World Championship.
So, I employed a triathlon coach and
2 years later Dave guided me to this
goal with automatic qualification at
Ironman Bolton. Other athletes
started to ask for advice about their
own training and so igniting my
interest in coaching. Now retired
from the Police Service I am
enjoying both group and 1-2-1
coaching. During 22 years of racing
I have competed at an international
level whilst managing to combine
training with working 24/7 shifts and
dealing with siginificant work related
stress and mental health issues.
I therefore have real empathy
with athletes struggling to balance
training with other life commitments.

What is involved
I use Training Peaks as the platform for managing training, where I create the
training plan and athletes upoad the
sessions they do. This also provides the
ability to comment on individual sessions
and provides a lot of data analysis for
those who like to monitor progress.
We have feedback conversations usually fortnightly.
I also offer advice and context on the latest trends and equipment.
