HOME EUTHANASIA PROCESS
Our home euthanasia is performed by a fully accredited, insured, and qualified MRCVS vet. Once you have made initial contact with us, our vet will contact you directly to confirm the date and time. Upon arrival, the vet will engage with both you and your pet, explaining the process in detail and addressing any questions or concerns you may have. When you feel ready, the vet will sedate your pet, which is similar to a vaccination and involves minimal discomfort. This sedation allows your pet to relax into a peaceful sleep before the euthanasia solution is administered into a vein, usually in the rear leg.
FINAL MOMENTS WITH YOUR PET
Once your pet is asleep, the euthanasia solution will be injected, leading to unconsciousness within seconds without any pain or suffering. Breathing will gradually slow and stop, followed shortly by cardiac arrest, resulting in a peaceful passing typically within 30 seconds of the injection. Afterwards, the vet will call us directly for collection. If you require additional time to say goodbye, please inform the vet so they can delay our arrival. Our staff will treat your pet with utmost care and dignity during collection, using a stretcher to ensure respect throughout the process.
AFTERCARE OPTIONS
Following collection, you are welcome to visit our farewell room the next day to say your final goodbyes. You can take as much time as you need without feeling pressured to make decisions. A private individual cremation will usually take place soon after your pet arrives at our facility unless you require time in the farewell room first. All cremations are recorded on CCTV for transparency; let our staff know if you want to view this footage. We strive to honour any special requests before and during the cremation process.
