It's always a good idea to ask any company you're considering using what their policy is if you are unhappy with the work they have undertaken for you. For example, do they come back and rectify things you are not happy with and if you are still not happy, do they have a refund policy?

This is a question that most people will ask, but they do not ask for proof. The reason why you must see proof is that, without it, you are holding yourself liable for damages.

 

ARE ALL YOUR STAFF FULLY VETTED AND DBS CHECKED?

Making these extra checks helps us as an employer make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working near and around vulnerable groups, including children. DBS replaces the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA).

 

ARE YOUR OVEN-CLEANING TECHNICIANS PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED?

Some oven cleaners are not professionally trained and don’t use specialist equipment. Not only may this be reflected in their standard of work, but in the worst-case scenario, it could even damage your appliance, which could be costly. We take training very seriously. All our staff are fully trained for 3-4 weeks in oven cleaning and in using our van-mounted cleaning tanks. They are then assessed continuously to ensure they are cleaning to our high standards.

 

DO YOU BELONG TO A PROFESSIONAL BODY?

If you have a problem with the service you have received and feel you've been treated unfairly, you should be able to go to their professional body, which can then mediate between you and the company in question. As members of The Association of Approved Oven Cleaners, we comply with Health and Safety Regulations and employment law. There is no use of any hazardous products within the customer’s home. Customers can find comfort in the knowledge that all members of The Association are professional, caring and environmentally friendly.

 

HOW THOROUGH ARE YOUR CLEANING METHODS?

Not all cleaning companies clean in the same way. It's always a good idea to find out more information about their cleaning process, so that you can make a proper comparison. We don't believe in cutting corners. Depending on your oven, we will remove and split your door to clean the dust and grease buildup between the glass, so your oven door will sparkle inside and out. Where possible, we will also remove your panels and fan to clean off the baked-on fat you sometimes get behind them. Not all companies clean to this standard, so don't be afraid to ask.

 

DO YOU OFFER AN UP-TO-DATE CUSTOMER FEEDBACK POLICY?

More and more people tend to read reviews before they make a purchase these days, and an oven cleaning service should be no different. You should be able to access or be sent this information to see how their latest customers rate their service, and be able to leave feedback yourself when the job is done.
