Le Mas d'Arjac

Most of the stone buildings of the Mas d’Arjac date from the early 18th century. The keystone of the Long House is dated 1738, and the Mas is believed to be even older. The buildings remained largely untouched until their recent and sympathetic restoration by local artisans who used only traditional methods and natural materials so that nothing has been lost of the beauty of the original buildings or of their character.  The interiors retain all of their original beams and stone features. At the same time, we have added luxuries such as solid oak floors and terra cotta tiles which are in keeping with the age and style of the home, but with the addition of under floor heating as well as modern insulation to keep the houses warm in winter and cool in summer.

The accommodation available to rent is:

The Long House,  built in stone and comprising a living room with a large, open fireplace,  a farmhouse kitchen/dining room, a bathroom with shower, lavabo and WC, a double bedroom with a king size bed (can be arranged as two singles), and a bedroom with three double beds on the first floor. In addition, the Yellow Room (accessed via a short flight of 6 steps from outside the kitchen door of the Long House) provides a further double bedroom with a king size bed (can be arranged as two singles) and en suite bathroom containing shower, lavabo and WC. The Long House is available to rent all year round. Sleeps up to 7. The terrace of the Long House provides a shaded dining area for up to 15.

La Petite Maison provides a further double bedroom with a king size bed (can be arranged as two singles) on a mezzanine with bunk beds in the downstairs part of the room.  There is a sink with hot & cold water, but guests in la Petite Maison use the other bathroom facilities of the Long House. Sleeps 4.

The Mas is the principal house in the hamlet and is also available to rent during the High Season only (see dates here). It is a very stylish and comfortable residence at the heart of the hamlet and is, for the rest of the year, the owner's own home. It has a large living room, kitchen/diner and bathroom on the ground floor, and a double bedroom with king size bed, and a further bedroom with two double beds. On the lower ground floor there is a buanderie with an additional shower and toilet. Sleeps up to 6

Please note that rental prices in High Season are for the whole property i.e. The Long House, the Mas and the Petite Maison and that we do not rent them separately. This makes it a very suitable proposition for family reunions or groups of friends travelling together. Outside High Season, the Long House (with the possible addition of the Petite Maison at a supplement) is the rental property.
