The Art of Cure
Homeopathy
What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a system of medicine which was developed over 200 years ago by the German Doctor, Samuel Hahnemann.
Homeopathy works by giving the body a precise stimulus which helps the body’s natural tendency to heal itself.
Hahnemann realized that illness could be treated by treating ‘like with like’, and he took this principle and added his own discovery that only the tiniest amounts of a Homeopathic medicine were needed to restore the body to health.
Today, all Homeopathic remedies are diluted and potentised to ensure that the minimum, most effective dose is prescribed.
What can it treat?
I have treated clients with a variety of symptoms, from migraines to menopausal symptoms, aches and pains to skin symptoms, hayfever to chronic fatigue, but principally Homeopathy treats the person as a whole rather than specific diseases.
What to expect…
Your first consultation will usually take about an hour. You will be asked lots of questions about your specific condition and also about your general health. I will also take a detailed history of your physical and emotional well-being. This is information will remain completely confidential. Information is recorded and matched against known remedy ‘pictures’ to find the best possible match for your individual symptoms. Your remedy is carefully selected to suit your overall condition, not just one symptom.
After your consultation, you will be prescribed a small number of tablets or a small bottle of your remedy in liquid form. You will then be invited back for a review consultation in a few weeks to check on your progress.
What makes Homeopathic remedies so special?
Homeopathic remedies are prepared in specialist pharmacies. Each remedy is accurately diluted and potentised under meticulous conditions. Homeopathic remedies are safe, non-toxic, and non-addictive.
What about seeing my GP?
You should maintain your relationship with your GP. Homeopathy and orthodox medicine can work together to complement your overall health care. You should not stop taking any prescription medicine without first consulting your Doctor and discussing this with your Homeopath.
How do I make an appointment?
Anyone can make an appointment. You do not need to see your Doctor first, although your GP or Specialist may recommend you.
Either phone me or fill in your details on the contact page and I will get back to you with information on how to make an appointment .
