Alethea Tang MA (Cantab), Legal Counsel

Alethea graduated from Cambridge University with a Law degree in 2000.  Prior to joining GlobalEarn, Alethea was a banking and finance solicitor in the Hong Kong and London offices of Clifford Chance LLP and the Hong Kong office of Paul Hastings LLP.

She has broad experience in banking and finance, particularly acquisition and leveraged finance, corporate restructuring, and project finance in a wide range of sectors and jurisdictions.  She has represented borrowers, financial institutions and sponsors.  Transactions include advising:

• the arrangers for the US$7.1 billion financing for the acquisition of Maxis Communications (the largest leveraged buy-out in Malaysia),

• the sponsors for the development right to construct a power plant in Cirebon area in West Java, Indonesia and generate electricity for state electricity company PLN,

• the arrangers for the €1.6 billion financing for the acquisition of Avio Group, an Italian defence and aeronautics conglomerate, by Cinven and Finmecannica,

• the arrangers for the £265 million financing for the acquisition of certain transport businesses of Stagecoach plc by Macquarie Bank,

• the arrangers for the £1.8 billion financing for the acquisition of ISS Group, global facility services group, by EQT and GS Capital Partners (it was the largest public to private buy-out in Denmark).

Alethea is mainly responsible on advising on all legal and banking aspects of the business.
