IBC TANK TESTING – BOOK YOURS TODAY!
A comprehensive repair and recertification programme offered by Basildon’s expert engineers. Specialising in Finncont’s heavy-duty stainless-steel IBCs, arrange your inspection and keep your containers in service for longer.
SERVICE A SINGLE TANK OR ENTIRE FLEET!
IBCs are specialised pieces of kit with a multitude of uses, enabling users to complete various complex tasks efficiently. Our repair and re-certification programme works to promote the condition and safety of your containers whilst ensuring they continue to meet the UN’s current regulations.
Though the UK’s Department of Transport guidelines allow the IBC operator to carry out their own inspection and testing, many of our European partners are more stringent. For example, the Finnish guidelines demand the tester is trained by the IBC manufacturer, who in turn has been trained and certified by the Finnish Government testing house, and that the tester is independent of the IBC owner’s production pressures and costs. An independent test can remove any question that the test was carried out competently whilst mitigating the need for your own engineers to conduct the inspection effectively.
TESTING FOR ALL COMPOSITE AND METALLIC IBCS
Our inspection service transcends all types of IBCs, offering one team that can meet your every need. Our normal service is provided from our Basildon site where containers may be delivered and collected, with an approximate turnaround time of 3 days. This will depend on any structural repair needs, which we’ll communicate with our customers upfront. There is no minimum quantity, although a small premium may be charged for small numbers of containers.
For a more cost-effective solution, we also offer our on-site service of which we’ll travel to clients up and down the UK. To ensure we continue to operate economically, we would normally recommend a minimum quantity of 10 containers. The cost will depend on the type of container to be tested, and the location. We can hold records of your fleet and issue reminders, but would initially need the basic fleet information from yourselves, i.e. a copy of the original containers’ test certificates (from the manufacturers country of test), together with a GA drawing so we know how the container was supplied.

MAINTAIN TANK CONDITION AND ITS CERTIFICATION
In addition to comprehensive performance and visual checks, Pensteel Ltd can complete any remedial tasks that may be required. IBC repair works are best performed at our site in Basildon where we’ll inspect the container/s before issuing a full report outlining any required work and the cost. Upon receipt of your official order and confirmation of your go-ahead, we’ll commence repairs. Any restored IBCs will automatically require a full UN re-certification test which will be included within the report. Once satisfied with the tank’s condition, we’ll issue a new certificate and retain a copy for future reference, and we’ll send a reminder when the container requires testing again.
Our goal is to make servicing and repairing your containers simple. With that in mind, we maintain spares for the Finncont range of IBCs, including the MC, CF, RF, PD, PC, PF, WF & CS containers, together with a range of spares for Schütz IBCs, Shafer, Kaucon, Ucon/Thielmann and Blefa. We hope this works to prevent delays and ensure only genuine parts are used. Any spares we do not hold may be taken from your company’s own stock.
