The Labeed lab is part of the Dielectrophoresis Network
My group has unprecedented experience in the use of the DEPtech 3DEP dielectrophoretic cytometer, having being involved in its development (particularly on the applications side) for over 10 years. It is currently available from Deparator Ltd.
Collaborations: RBCs and Chronobiology
My work on circadian rhythms in blood cells is performed in collaboration with Prof Debra Skene at Surrey, Dr John O'Neill at the MRC Laboratory for Molecular Biology at Cambridge, and Prof Jonathan M Gibbins at the University of Reading on platelet biology. I also work with Dr Daan van der Veen and Prof Jonathan Johnston on subjects from ultradian behaviour in voles to rhythmic behaviour in adipocytes.
Collaborations: Cancer
I have worked with Profs Stephen Porter and Stefano Fedele at the Eastman Dental Institute for 15 years on the development of dielectrophoretic tools for oral cancer diagnosis. More recently, I have been working with Dr Will Brackenbury at the University of York on the electrophysiology of breast cancer cells, and Profs Daniela Elena Costea and Anne Christine Johannessen at the Gade Institute in Norway.
Collaborations: Stem Cells
I have been working with Dr Lisa Flanagan for over 10 years on the dielectrophoresis of neural stem cells
Collaborations: General Electrophysiology
I also work with Dr Becky Lewis, Prof Chris Fry and Prof Mike Hughes on more general issues of electrophysiology and biophysics
for cellular electrophysiology
