Updated: May 24, 2023

Amêijoas à Bolhão Pato is a classic Portuguese dish that is easy to make at home. This dish is made with fresh clams that are cooked in garlic, olive oil, and white wine, and then finished off with a sprinkle of fresh coriander.

Here's how to make it:

Ingredients:

2 pounds fresh clams

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup olive oil

1/2 cup white wine

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons fresh coriander, chopped

Instructions:

Rinse the clams in cold water and discard any that are open or cracked.

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.

Add the clams to the pot and stir to coat them in the garlic and oil mixture.

Pour in the white wine and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Cover the pot with a lid and let the clams cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they have opened up.

Remove the lid and stir in the chopped coriander.

Serve the clams in bowls with the cooking liquid and some crusty bread for dipping.

Amêijoas à Bolhão Pato is a delicious and satisfying dish that is perfect for a cozy dinner at home.
