Give fresh turf properly prepared soil
New turf cannot hide compacted, uneven or weedy soil for long. We survey the garden, measure the area and assess access and ground condition before quoting. Preparation can include removing old growth, improving the soil, levelling and firming the surface, then applying suitable preparation before laying. Fresh lawn turf is cut to order and delivered speedily, reducing the time it spends rolled up before installation.

Care from the first roll to new roots
We lay turf with tight, staggered joints and trim it neatly around edges and obstacles. Rolling or firming gives the roots good contact with the prepared soil below. Once laid, the lawn needs immediate watering and careful establishment. We explain early mowing and how long to limit wear while roots develop. Your free turfing survey and quotation account for dimensions, soil work, access and the amount of preparation required.
Frequently asked questions
Can turf be laid over an old lawn?
We normally need to remove unsuitable old growth and prepare the soil beneath. Laying directly over an uneven or compacted lawn can prevent good contact and healthy rooting.
How soon can we walk on new turf?
Wear should be limited while roots establish in the prepared soil. Conditions affect the timing, so we explain how to check establishment and when normal use can resume.
What is included in the turfing quotation?
We consider lawn dimensions, access, soil condition, removal work, preparation and turf requirements. The quotation is free, transparent and supplied before agreed work begins.
