with the purchase recently (01.03.12) of the nissan leaf (or tesla's baby brother as we like to call it) 2012 provisional figures for co2 = minus 5.3 tonnes as a family & business (minus 1.77 per person.)  check out the photos & videos.

with the tesla model s due to arrive in 2013 the provisional figures for co2 = minus 6 tonnes as a family & business (minus 2 tonnes per person.)

when the tesla arrives we will declare this game complete.  then we will just continue to live our lives simply & luxuriously whilst remaining net co2 'taker-outers.'  the game will just move into the background and become part of how we operate as a given. we will continue to expand our impact in this area while creating & playing other similarly seemingly impossible games.

with the arrival of the leaf (& tesla) it frees us up to fly around the world (in addition to our annual flight for skiing in europe) & visit friends in usa, australia & new zealand (every so often) whilst still remaining net co2 'taker-outers.'  mind you, skype has been amazing!

we have proved that it is possible to live a simple, luxurious, modern life, inspire, contribute to humanity, make a difference, run a profitable business and be responsible towards humanity.  we are delighted.

echoing the words of a human rights lawyer from birmingham alabama who was in at ground level of the human rights struggle in america & became a lawyer because he felt black people needed lawyers at the time of martin luther king.  he represented thousands of people - often for no money. i heard him interviewed on the day of barack obama's inauguration. i was expecting him to be euphoric.  he was clearly happy.  his inspiring words of humility were:  'it's a good start.'  that's how i see what we have done.  we're doing our part.  are you doing yours?
