What your swimmer can develop
Stronger technique
Refine body position, breathing, stroke mechanics and coordination so movement through the water becomes more efficient.
Greater endurance
Build the ability to maintain good technique over longer distances, with progression based on consistent skills rather than simply time passed.
Clear progression
Use individual goals, focused teaching and planned progression sessions to develop the next appropriate skills for each swimmer.
From confident swimming to stronger technique
Once a swimmer is comfortable and confident in the water, the next step is learning to swim with greater control, efficiency and consistency. Pro Swim Academy develops technique through focused work on body position, breathing, stroke development, coordination and endurance. The aim is not simply to complete more lengths, but to help swimmers understand and repeat better movement in the water. Coaching is shaped around the swimmer’s current ability and individual goals, so they can strengthen recognised strokes, improve breathing patterns and build the skills needed for more independent, efficient swimming.

A structured pathway for continued progression
Technique development sits within Pro Swim Academy’s wider WaterPath pathway, where focused teaching is reinforced through planned progression sessions and clear next steps. Swimmers can continue from strong foundations into intermediate development and, where appropriate, more advanced work on efficiency, endurance and independent swimming across the strokes. Progress is reviewed around the individual swimmer rather than by moving every child through the same route, helping each swimmer work towards meaningful goals at the right level of challenge.
Frequently asked questions
Who are technique and progression lessons for?
They are designed for swimmers who already have confidence in the water and are ready to develop stronger technique, coordination, breathing and endurance. The starting point is based on the swimmer’s current ability and goals.
What skills can my child work on?
Depending on their current level, coaching can focus on body position, breathing patterns, front crawl, backstroke, coordination, distance, endurance and more efficient movement. More advanced swimmers can continue refining technique and independent swimming across the strokes.
How do you decide what my child should work on next?
Pro Swim Academy begins by understanding the swimmer’s current ability, confidence and individual needs. Progress is then built around suitable priorities, with achievements and next steps reviewed so the swimmer has a clear route forward.
