Private Dentists in Central London

The patient was a 59 year old male referred from a general dental practitioner in London.  He presented with a combination of failing bridgework and severe untreatable periodontal disease.

The additional clinical challenge was that the patient wished to avoid removable partial dentures at any stage.

Our approach was to make a fixed provisional bridge on two ‘sacrificial’ abutment teeth having removed all of the remaining teeth.  Four months after the extractions the implants were placed.  These were allowed to integrate for a full six months prior to second stage surgery to uncover the implants.

The screw retained upper implant reconstruction was fitted approximately six weeks later.

The patient was a 54 year old male engineer referred from a colleague in West Sussex.  He presented with generalised chronic periodontal disease with extreme bone loss. The only traditional treatment alternative would involve complete upper and lower removable dentures.

Upper and lower laboratory fabricated metal and acrylic ten unit provisional bridges were secured on two abutment teeth in each arch.

Following healing of the extraction sockets extensive bilateral sinus grafting was performed.  This was followed by delayed implant placement, an integration period, second stage surgery and final restoration.
