Diogenes - 2017
Diogenes is a very attractive club site set in six acres near the town of Rickmansworth. The grounds surround a large house that contains a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge, a conservatory, a games room, a children's room and a swimming pool, together with showers and lavatories.
There are no permanent pitches for the members, but eight touring pitches, each supplied with electric hook-up. The grounds also have large sunbathing areas, camping areas, a second swimming pool, volleyball court, tennis and miniten courts and ten boules courts.
The club has a resident caretaker, who lives with his wife in a flat in the house, and is very helpful.
Entrance at N51.6227° W0.5312°. Access to the club is through a coded gate and visitors are given the code on arrival.
From here we visited Hughenden Manor, the home of Benjamin Disraeli, entrance at N51.6515° W0.7499°; and West Wycombe Park, the home of the Dashwood family, entrance at N51.6445° W0.8049°.
There is a large Tesco on the edge of Rickmansworth, entrance at N51.6334° W0.4696°, where we did our shopping.
